I have four different versions installed. Word is the default. I have no jump list for the other three. Once you have set the number of jumplist items in Word and Excel to 40 or whatever , the only way at the moment to get the jumplist to respond to that ie to show more than 17 or so is to remove all the recent items currently in the jump list click right on each.
